We have good news for importers.
Decree No. 11,090 of June 7, 2022 was published today in the Official Gazette of the Union, which comes into force from the date of publication.
This regulation determines that values related to the cost of transportation within the national territory, including Capatazia, are eliminated from the Customs Value calculation basis (VMLD).
As the Customs Value (VMLD) is the basis for charging taxes on imports, a lower base results in lower tax payments.
We await the missing definitions and guidelines that will be published by the Federal Revenue Service soon.
